HISTORY

The band was founded in 1988. Originally destined to be a theatrical show accompanied by Rock Music. Beyond The Edge was started by Henk-Jan (synths) and has its roots in the Netherlands, with 3 other members, drums, bass, and vocals/guitar. Wolfgang, who came 1994 to Sweden, has played in some well known bands in Germany before. (Stiller; Phonic Water) In spring 2008 Wolfgang and Henk-Jan decided... the band has to be called to life again as a female-fronted Band with a complete different jacket and a new crew, the actual line up.
The band played in December 2008 their first concert. Since then they played regulary in clubs, rock- and culture events, festivals and charitys. In March/May 2011 a demo CD is recorded in the own studio in Hagfors (A Gate to Heaven) and in spring 2012 a second demo CD is recorded. (The Old Book) In august 2012 Tonja leaves the band and Anna Carlson takes over the microphone. Annas voice, developed in musical and opera, is a perfect completion to this special kind of music the band plays. In spring 2013 Uwe Bartos has joined the band.
For the live sound is an own, separate powerful PA availible for rooms of about 200-400 people. Also an own lightning system for the light show with a lot of special effects is availible.
Symphonic Rock can be described as combination of Progressive Rock with Classic Music mixed with Metal riffs and Folk Music. These different influences make the music very interesting and give it a lot of alternation. In addition to Anna’s amazing vocals, there are a few remarkable vocal performances of Wolfgang (growls) on a few songs, giving it an interesting vocal range and variety. All music and lyrics are written by Henk-Jan and Wolfgang, both have a lot of experience as musicans. Our songs tell stories, about people like us and their everyday life, their fears and their dreams, but also about our earth, the truth, religion and mystical tales. Some of us are inspired by the bible, others of the nature, it is a good combination which speaks of hope and a solid foundation for everyday life - and beyond.. .
